COMMISSIONING AN UPDATE TO THE 2014 SOCIAL SERVICE GAP ANALYSIS STUDY AND ADJUSTING FISCAL YEAR 2021 GENERAL FUND APPROPRIATIONS TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THAT PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution F/S R-14-55 on June 9, 2014, which commissioned a study to assess the gaps in funding for the City, County and State social service programs; and
WHEREAS, the UNM Center for Education Research and Policy completed the commissioned analysis in October 2014, and included estimated numbers of persons who have moderate to severe behavioral health issues, and an inventory of the types of related services available to meet these needs; and
WHEREAS, one of the deliverables produced with the gap analysis study included an interactive map showing the location and detail of the services providers, which can be found at https://ccpi.unm.edu/visualizations/mental-behavioral-health-service-providers; and
WHEREAS, the services gap study will inform the City regarding future collaborations for service delivery and funding; and
WHEREAS, the passage of time and dynamic community conditions necessitate that the behavioral health services gap study be updated to provide more useful and relevant information for policy makers.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
SECTION 1. The Director of the Department of Family and Community Services is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with a consultant to assist in updating the study assessing the gaps in the City, County and State's provision of services for mental health service.
